Chottanikkara Devi Temple

Chottanikkara bhagavathy amma temple is the most popular hindu shrines of Kerala. It is located in Chottanikkara town, almost 17 kms away from Cochin. It comes under the administration of cochin devaswom board. The mother goddess known as rajarajeswari(Adiparasakthi) is the presiding deity of the temple. The divine is worshiped here in three forms saraswathi in the morning, lakshmi at noon and durga in the evening. It is believed that this deity was brought from mookambika temple in Kollur, Karnataka and there is a presence of saraswathi in the morning.

This temple is nearer to poornathrayesa temple at Thripunithara. The temple complex consists of keeshkavu bhagavathy temple and temples for upa-devas.

Makom thozhal is the most important festival here.
