Baba Nahar Singh Temple Himachal Pradesh

Baba Nahar Singh Temple is situated at Dholra, which falls under the Bilaspur district. Baba Nahar Singh is believed to be an incarnation of God and is also known by the names of Bajia, Peepal Wala amd Dalian Wala. It is said that the Baba was the patron deity of Naggar, the erstwhile capital of the state of Kullu. When Raja Deep Chand of Bilaspur married Naggar Dei, the princess of Kullu, the idol of Baba Nahar Singh accompanied her to the new state.

After sometime, the queen fell sick and continued to suffer from spells of unconsciousness. Ultimately, it was realized that this was happening because idol was not installed in the state with all religious rituals. Thus, Raja Deep Chand built Baba Nahar Singh Temple at Dholra and placed His 'Kharaun' (wooden slippers) in the temple, as His symbol. Fairs are organized here every Tuesday, in the Hindu month of Jeth, in the honor of the deity.
